Yes, it has a bit of a slow pacing. Yes, it borrowed a lot from War of the Worlds. But despite this, it has very good acting, great computer effects, good story telling and enough tension to keep you skip to the next episode. If you consider this a War of the Worlds adaption, it is the best one. It would be a shame if there will be no second season.

Slow and uninspiring, with aliens that look a lot like furbees with spikes. In short, I can't recommend this sci fi stinker, on any level.

**Invasion: Delusions of Grandeur**

Not so much "slow burn" but more "no burn". I'm quite partial to slow sci-fi, but this has no characters I can care about, zero charm or personality, and a glacial non-sensical plot. It mistakes "sombre and ponderous" for "meaningful": it's basically B-movie, ID4-style schlock, but thinks it's Citizen Kane.

I write this after watching Season 2 Episode 5. I keep thinking it'll get better ... _it has to get better_. It won't. Don't make the same mistake I did – there's still time to save yourself.

On the plus side, it looks lovely and is quite good for the five seconds Sam Neil is in it.

Absolutely garbage. The story is as slow as the molasses pouring. It is NOT sci-fi. It is more like Days of Our Lives spin-off or something. I DO NOT recommend this as a sci-fi series. But if you are into noontime soap show, then I highly recommend this.

WAJO!

What on earth is this show? There is less of extraterrestrials and more of insipid drama of humans.

There's no explanation of this repeated word. Perhaps esteemed writers and show runners thought they are going to create something far beyond human intelligence and will be talked among sci-fans for decades, but what they ended up making is putrid muck.

Finally, I blame Sam Niel for making me watch this show. Had no idea his screen presence will be short lived.

WAJO!

Season 1 takes forever to get somewhere, but it did get somewhere interesting enough to keep me watching:

- The alien design is lackluster. It's literally a blob.
- JASA woman's storyline is probably the most interesting.
- The kid's storyline gets good after he stands up for himself, not before. Everything before is... "UGH! CAN WE NOT?!" His teacher/bus driver gave us some of the dumbest scenes in Season 1.
- Soldier man's storyline is pew pew fine, I guess?
- Not A Doctor woman's story is the most irritating to watch unfold. By the en…

By the end of the season, I wanted her entire family to be dead so she could just play doctor.
- "Wajo!", "Anghkooey!", "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!"... Can we stop with this one-word muffin shit? Was the Japanese word for space alien too long? Your shuttle gets f@#$ed by aliens, and you're able to say one word, you gon' say "aliens". Nothing else but "aliens", so that everyone knows what's coming. Not "smol", not "big", and not "wajo/castle", and if you were gon' say "wajo/castle", you'd use the proper word, for f@#$'s sake, the writers of this trash need to f@#$ themselves with a wajo!

Season 2 Episode 1 has eroded any interest Season 1 managed to give me:

- Season 2 Episode 1 starts 4 months after Season 1's finale, and begins with JASA woman playing pyro avenger on the streets of Japan, tossing Molotov cocktails at blobs as they blob around, without any assistance whatsoever. It makes you wonder two things: 1. Why doesn't she have like a rag-tag gang, and 2. where's the military and the flamethrowers?
- Season 2 Episode 1 continues with bazillionaires acting above the law and being annoying little twats.
- Season 2 Episode 1 continues with what appears to be a new trope: every time Not A Doctor gets into a military convoy, it's gonna be attacked and the military will be overpowered.
- Season 2 Episode 1 continues with rebel forces opposing the military and stealing supplies allegedly meant for starving people.
- I gave up at some point. I do not care. Where is the kid?

This show takes too long to get anywhere to bog us down with more bullshit. Maybe when I have nothing else to watch, I'll give it another go.
